    Funding Request for FA-PAC Internship Program (46-56405)

    This item is to discuss and possibly approve up to $4,288 in funding for the FA-PAC Internship Program to increase interns' hours on election-related activities. The program gives students training and experience needed to engage in community organizing, public policy advocacy and elections/campaigns.

    The DASG Finance committee approved the amount of $2,144 at its meeting on Monday 11/27/2023 as its recommendation.

    • Maritza: Club Day for next week; plan for table; have marketing ready | Happy Winter Quarter!
      • Will be reaching out to Joel for the RSVP for Club Day table. Be sure to have marketing ready for 1/25 in the Sunken Garden. 
    • Dayna: Welcome back to winter quarter and looking forward to a great year. 


    Senate Announcements

    • Virinchi: Public Policy School will be attending conference taking place in Sacramento from February 24, 25 and 26th. Currently have 9 out of 10 delegates and looking for a senator to join. If interested, please DM Virinchi on Discord. 
    • Isaac: If interested, please let me know if interested in Elections info sessions; a way to gain field hours. 
      • Two vacancies: Social Media in Marketing and Legislative Awareness on positon in the Administration Committee for midterm senators.
      • Kammy has decided to resign due to academic constraints as well as mental health obligations. Is grateful for all of the support of senate. 
      • Umme also had to resign from DASG due to academic obligations and health constraints. 
    • Lydia: Do your office hours. 


    Student Trustee Announcements

    Javier: Board of Trustees met last Monday, and did much Human Resource work; approved employment even that since retirement etc. of several administrators and classified staff. They also reduced the full time emplyment position at the Child Development Center.

    • Foothill -De Anza district is working on renovating bathrooms in S2, S6 AND L5; they will be all gender restrooms. 

    Internal DASG Committee Reports

    • Asiya: Programs Committee - changed meeting time to bi-weekly Wednesdays, 1:30-2:30pm. Flea Market: Jannah and Ian are jopining the programs committee. 
    • Issac: Administration went through up dates on elections. 
    • Hannah: SRE met to discuss the De Anza Exploration project and will be working on creating a student disability association and marketing with Joel. 
    • Izat: Finance will be finishing uo budget deliberations and will be doing budget deliberations with the senate soon. 
    • Katelyn: Marketing tomorrow at 2pm. 



    Shared Governance Reports 

    • Isaac: Curriculum met to discuss cooperation for better management of students on what program they are at and now runs from 2:30pm-4:00pm. Talked about Title V changes - IGETC: All CCC have to follow new protocol and needs to be changed by fall 2025. Local GE's and was told the decision would be voted campus wide during May. 
    • Katelyn: Reviewed printing policies including data as well as multifactor authentication. The state is requiring it for students and employees have already been put on the system. Accessibility issues were addressed. Hardware upgrades.

    Advisor Announcements

    • Hyon Chu: A person posing as an auditor will be coming by; if he does show up please report them to the Office of College Life. It does not seem that this person has been involved in physical altercations, has been walking into offices uninvited. No need to get in a verbal altercation. If OCL is closed, report to campus police.
