Complex Health Challenges

Course Description

This course builds on prior learning experiences to develop knowledge and skills used in the management of nursing care of patients experiencing complex health challenges and rapid changes in health status. It also integrates the knowledge of pathophysiology, diagnostics, pharmacology, communication concepts, and therapeutic interventions in order to facilitate culturally congruent nursing care for patients with complex variations in health patterns. Students will become increasingly competent in the application of nursing processes, research, problem-solving and use of clinical judgment. Both NURS 95 and NURS 95L must be taken and passed concurrently within the same quarter (failure of either component requires both courses to be retaken).

De Anza will host its annual Enrollment Day event for graduating high school students and their families on Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Main Quad and other locations.

Sixteen faculty members were granted tenure by the Foothill-De Anza district Board of Trustees on Monday, during a special celebration attended by Chancellor Lee Lambert and leaders from the college and district. Colleagues, deans and family members were also there to congratulate them.

Meet the 2024 Tenure Recipients
Four members of the De Anza College community will be honored in March with Excellence Awards from the national League for Innovation in the Community College. They were selected for their outstanding service to the college and its students.

2024 Excellence Award Winners
De Anza has received its first-ever grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, providing $150,000 for an ambitious, three-year effort to create and expand oral history programs focused on historically marginalized communities.
