    • Javier moved to approve the January 24, 2024 minutes.

    Public Comments

    • Arianna: HEFAS will be hosting study session every Monday from 4-6pm. 
    • Jason: For first years, an event where members offer class scheduling assistance and well as resume building. 

    Advisor Announcements

    • Dennis: Budget Announcement up to 2 minutes to speak on the budget request sign up sheet (paper and online). VP, ICC Chair and 
      • Next week Isaac, Ted and will be meeting with Dennis to 
    • Hyon Chu: Needs a number for how many people will be there next Wednesday including interns; Will be getting Panda Express (Next Wednesday's dinner). 
      • Scholarship will have specific amount and all relevant information, if any questions be sure to contact Hyon Chu. See email sent via DASG Secretary on January 31, 2024. 
      • Will see disbursement within the next couple of weeks. 
    • Maritza: Take ownership of keeping the space clean; when reserving spaces for info sessions, do not reserve the chambers during the ICC meetings being held on Mondays and Wednesdays. Club Day was awesome! Grateful for all of the DASG helpers, this was the most engagement from students. 
    • Dayna: Anyone who hasn't been to the flea market, feel free to come by this Saturday. Mini Flea Market will take place on . 


    Senate Announcements

    • Adrian: Wildflower Event will be happening next Tuesday, 2/6 from 3-5pm near the Flint Center and the Sunken Garden near the VIDA office. Senators can come to get field hours if desired. 
    • Isaac: Election deadline will be submit application; deadline is 2/5. Anyone can run for the election. You do not need to be an intern first, must meet general state requirements. 


    Student Trustee Announcements

    • Javier: None

    Internal DASG Committee Reports

    • Asiya: Programs met on 1/31 as a working meeting for the Mini Flea Market Planning as well as the Wildflowers event. Every Tuesday when Wildflowers are planted 3-5 next Tuesday. 
    • Katelyn: DSPS: Merch is also in progress such as stickers
    • Isaac: Discussion on scheduling, elections and in person outreach. 
    • Megan: SRE met today, planning for upcoming in February. 
    • Izat: Finance approved the budget for Fund 41 and Fund 46 and will be discussing it today. 


    Shared Governance Reports 

    • Izat: RAPP met 1/30, approved recommendation for funding 5 positions including Anthropology, Physics Lab Tech, Multi Faculty, and the Leadership Development and Student Activities Coordinator.  Discussion over which categories are priority. 
    • Ted Naung: College Council met last Thursday and group of students at De Anza Health Clinic update in parking lot B this would would be written into the lease 
    • Lydia: Academic Senate met on 1/29 including Affordable Housing Updates, Bay Area Housing Finances - $20 Million. 
      • Sunnyvale Center, Measure G projects, second reading of the Academic Senate Scholarship. 
      • Concerns about Health Care project timeline.

    • To reflect the DASG Flea Market Liasion to the Programs Committee. 
    • Restrictions for travel for food and travel expenses. 
    • Adrian moves to add General Ledger and General Ledger Account. 
    • Jason seconded the motion, no objections. 
    • Ian moves to approve the Finance Code changes as amended. 
    • Seconded by Nicholas (Niko), no objections. 


    Business Item 3

    Proposed Environmental Sustainability Senate Structural Changes

    • Adrian and Asiya presented the item. 
    • Dennis and Hyon Chu advocate for Environmental Sustainability to be it's own Committee. 
      • No one knows that DASG works on Environmental Sustainability projects due to limited visibility in Marketing. 
      • ES has been one of the most active committees in the past. Such as reusable water bottles, water fountain stations, Kirsch Center was built by DASG (Measure E). DASG had extra funding and distributed $200,000 towards that project. 
      • ES would have a Bike Program Coordinator + 1 or 2 Environmental Sustainability Coordinators. 
      • Asiya turned down the idea of putting in an ES Committee initially due to issues with delegation. 
      • Discussion continued over how to proceed with the ES Structural Changes. 
    • Arianna moved to approve the senate changes to make Environmental Sustainability a committee for next year. 
    • Matthew seconded the motion. 
    • Isaac objected the motion.

    Legislative Affairs Liaison Internal Officer Election 

    • Arman D gave a speech to the senate. 
    • Eddie N gave a speech to the senate. 
    • The Senate took part in a 10 min Q&A session asking questions to the officers regarding their plans for initiatives within the role, why they believe they are a good fit, and what they know about the position. 
    • Both officers had an opportunity for 1 min as a closing statement. 
    • Discussion took place over which candidate should be appointed for the role after candidates exited the room. 
    • Javier moved to extend discussion by 5 min. 
    • Isaac seconded the motion, no objections.

    - All requestors will have an opportunity to speak on their funding requests at this meeting. Each program area, not individual person, will be allowed up to two (2) minutes maximum to speak on their funding request.
  • Wednesday, February 14, 2024
    Final proposed draft with revisions if any presented to DASG Senate as an Action item for Second Vote (tentative)*
  • Monday, May 6, 2024
    DASG Senate approved Budget presented to Board of Trustees for their approval.
  • Monday, July 1, 2024
    New FHDA Fiscal Year Begins; Funds Become Available

* The date of the Second (2nd) Vote depends on when the First (1st) Vote takes place. If the deliberation is not complete on the 7th it will continue to the 14th and the Second (2nd) Vote will be pushed to the 21st. Also, the DASG Budget requires a confirming vote of the same budget without changes between the votes. If any changes take place the day of the Second (2nd) Vote it goes back to being a First (1st) Vote and will require a new date for a confirming Second (2nd) Vote.
