Spanish for Beginners I (SPAN 401)

In this beginning level conversation class, students will learn basic Spanish vocabulary and practice speaking in situations they may experience while at home and abroad. Taught by a native speaker, the course includes:

How to greet people and start conversation
Common questions and answers in a variety of settings
Spanish verbs and concepts

This class is designed for first time students, but it's also useful for people who want to refresh their basic Spanish.

Course Text: Barron's Learn Spanish the Fast and Fun Way, 3rd. Edition.

It is recommended students have the textbook prior to the first class meeting.

Italian for Travelers (ITAL 403)

Going to Italy? In this beginning level Italian course, students will build the basics by practicing the survival skills needed in everyday situations. Taught by a native of Italy, course topics will include how to address situations relating to hotels, restaurants, shopping, and meeting people. The course is intended for anyone who is planning to travel to Italy for business or pleasure.

Elementary Russian - Level 2

The overall purpose of this course is to lead students to a conversational level that will be primarily based on their elementary-studies skills, but at the same time will take them toward a more mature conversation form that allows the participants to use and practice their knowledge by discussing authentic texts and cultural topics. The course material is carefully selected to suit the needs and interests of the second-year Russian students.
