Everything You Wanted to Know About Your Mac, But Afraid to Ask!
(COMP 151)
This class is for anyone who owns a Macintosh computer and would like to use it more effectively. Taught in an informal question and answer format, the class will address topics related to understanding how your Mac OS works and questions about the many Mac applications found on your computer, including iTunes, iCal, Mac Mail, iMovie, iPhoto etc.
Anyone interested in attending this class is welcome to email the instructor five questions for discussion. Students may send questions to HYPERLINK "mailto:shortcourses@fhda.edu" shortcourses@fhda.edu. The class will be taught in a general classroom, with the instructor demonstrating on their laptop and overhead projector. Students are welcome to bring their laptops to class.

Facebook, Twitter & More!
You’ve heard about Twitter on the news. Your friends have reconnected with old friends on Facebook. Why are these new Internet applications generating so much interest and debate? How can you benefit from participating? Led by two social media experts, this hands-on course will show you the hottest social media applications, such as Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn, and you’ll create your own account in two of the applications. The instructors will show you where you need to take care, such as with privacy issues, the ownership of posted content, and business use and transparency. You’ll come away with an appreciation for what the hype is all about as well as step-by-step instructions on how you can continue to enjoy using the applications after class is over.
Both instructors are social media experts and possess over 30 years of combined experience at high tech companies in the Silicon Valley.
